Dr. Vuong received her BA in Biology from Brown University and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied neuronal mechanisms of alternative splicing and posttranscriptional regulation using mouse models. In her first post-doc at the Salk Institute, she developed viral tools for subtype-specific targeting of inhibitory neurons. Currently, as a post-doctoral fellow in the de la Torre-Ubieta lab, Celine is interested in understanding how transcriptional regulation influences neuronal specification using organotypic brain slices, human stem cell models and single cell multi-omics. Outside of the lab you can find her enjoying fine single-malt scotch.
